Veteran actor Thilakan has been freed from the one and a half year long ban enforced upon, by the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). The members of federation will be now free to cast the actor in their films, after this decision considering his ill health and age, which came after the FEFKA executive committee meeting held at Kochi yesterday.

The ban on Thilakan had cost him many important projects including the multistarrer ‘Christian Brothers’ and Hollywood film 'Dam999'. But the Padma Shri laureate fought back by returning to professional drama stages. He not only launched and acted in ‘Itho caivathinte Swantham Nadu’ for Aksharajwala theaters but also continued to be in films like ‘Yakshiyum Njanum’, ‘Achan’ Reghuvinte Swantham Raziya and ‘Chungakkarum Veshyakalum’ by non FEFKA members.
