Thieves take away ATM machine as they fail in taking money

Four youngsters in Hyderabad, who became thieves after decamping with an ATM machine in Pregnapur, Gajwel were held by the police and arrested on Friday. The ATM contained Rs 5 lakh. Among the arrested, two were siblings, who had been to jail for various crimes they have committed earlier, said Siddipet police.
Thieves Bomma Swami, Bomma Ilesh, Thungapalli Naveen and Ayyadula Naveen were found loitering around suspiciously in an auto near an ATM kiosk in Gajwel when the cops intercepted them.
During the interrogation, they have admitted to making the crime. A crowbar, an iron rod, a hammer and a cutting player were found in their auto.
Gajwel ACP P Narayana said, “At both these places, they cut the CCTV wires but could not break open the ATMs. As they failed twice in their attempts, they have decided to take away the ATM itself in their third attempt.”
From 5 lakh rupees, they spent Rs 28,000 already and the remaining cash was found. A day prior to the theft, four of them did a recce and disconnected the wired of the CCTV cameras. They used a crowbar to dislodge the ATM which was smaller in size when compared to other machines.
