S.K.S. Karthik Kannan is well known in the short film circuit not only having made several films but also winning seven awards for them so far. He is making his big-screen debut in a new movie titled 'Thidal' which is complete and is in post-production.

'Thidal' which means playground in English deals with cricket in villages and how the problems faced by youngsters to play the game due to social, economical situations and politics. P. Prabhakaran who is producing the film under his banner Ground Pictures is also playing an important role in the film. Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Saranya Ravichandran and Yasar who appeared as the young Christopher in 'Ratsasan' play other key characters

'Thidal' also introduces five new faces as the young protagonists namely.Prabhu, Anbu, Sahul, Yokesh and Karna. The camera has been handled by Gerald and Sekharram while the music is scored by Sri Sai Dev V.

S.K.S. Karthik Kannan is confident that his 'Thidal' will impress all sections of the audience and the producer is planning for a grand summer release.
