'Seetha Ramuni Kosam', starring Karunya Chowdary and Sharath Sreerangam, will hit the screens on December 15. In this interview, the actress talks about the film, her role, what makes this role special, and more.
Why are you describing this movie as your debut, while you have done movies in the past?
Yes, I have done a few movies in the past. But none of them helped me endear myself to the audience. 'Seetha Ramuni Kosam', I hope, is going to be a different story. This is an emotional family thriller.
What makes you feel so confident about this film's capacity to help you more than your previous movies?
My character. It's going to be remembered as a Bapu character. Director Anil Gopireddy has etched it with great sincerity and focus.
Right from the time the teaser and trailer were released, I have been getting congratulatory messages. In the main, the 'Laalee' song has got a very good response.
Do you hope that this film will definitely give you the required break?
I think people are going to remember me as Seetha Karunya after this movie. Even on the sets, people would call me Seetha. They would say that I am acting like Soundarya. Those compliments make me happy.
Going by the trailer, there are horror elements, too, in the movie. What is your take?
It's an emotional thriller than the whole family can watch. It leaves a feeling of having watched a very good film.
What is your take on director Anil Gopireddy's work?
He is such a cool man. He extracts the work he wants. He is patient when it comes to cajoling us into giving our best. The whole shooting was a pleasant experience.
How was it working with Sharath Sreerangam?
Although it's his first movie, he has acted like an experienced performer.
What are your upcoming movies?
A few offers are there, but I will be taking a call on them only after this movie. I want to do family-oriented roles.
