Superstar Rajinikanth awaits the release of 'Darbar' on January 9.  The full-on action-drama is a mass masala entertainer whose pre-release event was held on Friday evening in Hyderabad.  Speaking on the occasion, the legendary actor was all praise for Subaskaran of Lyca Productions, which has bankrolled big-ticket entertainers like '2.0' and 'Darbar' itself.

"Subaskaran garu is making big movies.  'Ponniyin Selvam' is a majestic movie on the scale of 'Baahubali'," Rajini said, briefly referring to the Mani Ratnam movie in his speech.

The makers haven't spoken about the budget of 'PS'.  Suffice it to say that it's a high-budgeted magnum opus that is going to be visually grand and spectacular.  Perhaps, a lot of VFX is also involved. Mani Ratnam is someone who doesn't boast about his movies.  That's why there is no hype around the costs involved.
