These shots in Sarkar removed after protests

There are these shots in a song in 'Sarkar' where people dump freebies like grinders and mixers, seeking real empowerment instead. This they do at the behest of Vijay's inspirational character, which asks them to support his agenda of unleashing Tamil Nadu 2.0.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the movie is named Komalavalli. She is a wily politician who is bloodcurdling. Now, Komalavalli is the original name of late TN chief minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa.

Needless to say, the above elements in 'Sarkar' have angered the ruling party in the State. They have demanded that these should be edited out in the movie. Several protests have been undertaken by AIADMK party workers at theatres screening the AR Murugadoss entertainer. Vandalism has been reported in certain parts.

The news is that the makers of the movie have reportedly agreed to remove those elements in the movie. It's learned that sections of distributors and exhibitors impressed upon Sun Pictures to remove the controversial aspects keeping in view "public sentiment".

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, understandably, have backed the makers of 'Sakar' over the aggressive demands made by AIADMK.
