Kalaippuli S.Thanu, one of the highly experienced and happening producers of Kollywood, is celebrating his birthday today.

31 years since his maiden production venture 'Yaar' released, Thanu is now on the top spot of producers list in Tamil cinema. He is also the President of Tamil Film Producers council. Well-known for his marketing strategies, Thanu had also directed a film titled 'Pudhu Padagan' starring Vijayakanth in the lead. The interesting thing in this is, he has also composed music for the flick.

The 'V Creations' leader had produced many films like 'Kaakka Kaakha', 'Kandukondein Kandukondein' and 'Aalavandhan', which were huge in cost as well as quality during that time.

Tamil cine industry keeps exclaiming about the brilliance of Thanu in taking films to the audience of every nook and corner. As a producer-distributor, he's capable of making attractive promotions for a film that would surely pull people into theaters. 'Theri', the recent blockbuster of Vijay, is one evident proof to explain the laudable businessman in him.

While at the time of 'Bhairavi', Thanu the distributor of the film, had given the revolutionary title 'Superstar' for Rajinikanth and then, the rest is history. 'Kabali', having Superstar as protagonist, has been funded by the maverick producer and is all set to storm into the screens in the month of July.
