Meena who started her career as a child actress went on to become one of the most sought after leading ladies in the south during the late 80s and 90s acting opposite such stalwarts as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna and a host of others.

Meena's daughter Baby Nainikka made her acting debut with Thalapathy Vijay in 'Theri' and is currently playing a pivotal role with Arvind Swamy and Amala Paul in 'Bhaskar Oru Rascal' directed by Siddique.  Meena has shared that originally director Siddique wanted her to star opposite Vijay in 'Friends' but missed out due to date issues.  Her daughter however has acted with Vijay and also has worked with director Siddique which she has said has sort of fulfilled her dream.
