Among other things, Bollywood is often criticised for its tendency to remake too many South Indian blockbusters films. People often argue that making too many adaptations shows lack of creativity and money hungry nature of filmmakers. However, actor Abhishek Bachchan doesn't seem to share this opinion.

The actor, who is gearing up to star in the Hindi remake of Tamil film 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7', recently shared that there is nothing new or wrong about the concept of remakes. "I have done south remakes in the past. Now, the media glare is on it (more). South films have been made in Hindi and Hindi films have been made in the South for the last 70 to 80 years. The language of cinema is the same," said Abhishek according to a report in The Indian Express.

Abhishek further shared, "There is always going to be an exchange in cinema and language is becoming lesser of a barrier. Also, as we have yet another medium (OTT), before that in select theatres (South language films would release) in Mumbai or on satellite dubbed versions, now there is accessibility (referring to due to OTT)."

Apart from this, Abhishek recently starred in a comedy flick 'Dasvi', where he played an uneducated Haryanvi politician.
