Theevram Producer and Director in a spat over Dubbing Rights!

A spat has arisen between Theevram director V.S. Ismail and director Roopesh Pethambaran over dubbing rights. Recently the director has come up against the producer for dubbing it in Tamil without informing him. He alleged that it was done without receiving his permission. As per the director they had ruined the film due to this inferior dubbing.

The producer replied to it saying that the film`s production cost came up to two and half crore and at the box office it was a disaster and it was the only film to meet such a huge loss among 2012 releases. According to the producer the film incurred a loss of 42 lakhs.

Also the producer pointed out he had only sold the dubbing rights for 1 lakh rupees. If it was remake rights then Roopesh could state his claims for the rights. The dubbing of the film has been done by someone else, so there is no point in accusing him for the poor quality. The producer also expressed doubts about the director`s professional prowess
