Karthi’s ‘Theeran Adhigaram Ondru’ directed by H.Vinoth released recently to an overwhelming response from critics and the general audience. The film is based on real events where a group of Tamil Nadu police officers nix a notorious gang of dacoits that specialise in armed robbery and murder of innocent people.

However, the film seems to have received flak from certain corners owing to its portrayal of a sect in an inappropriate manner. Pertaining to this the makers of the film have issued an offical statement apologising to have hurt the viewer sentiments and that the film doesn not show any sect's sole occupation to be its ancestral occupation.

The statement also announced that the word ‘kuttraparambarai’ and the book scene will be chopped off. And And so, the film will have the said parts taken off from its television and online stream versions in the future.
