"Please allow us to collect a nominal parking fee from our patrons, who use our space for a period of three hours. Maintaining the parking space entails costs for us. Parking fee has been a pillar of strength for cinema halls for years. Removing them has made our business unviable," the Chamber said.
The Chamber also said that the Minimum Demand charges from the electricity board during the lockdown period have put the theatres in a difficult condition.
A request has also been made to relax the Property Tax on theatres for a period of two years. Reduction in State GST is yet another request.
Yesterday, the Chamber urged movie producers not to sell their films to OTT platforms till October.
