The Producer Council head and the Nadigar Sangam secretary Vishal has announced an indefinite strike of the Tamil industry starting from the 30th of May demanding the government to take severe action against piracy in all its forms. This has caused many films like Jayam Ravi`s Vanamagan` to postpone release dates.

However it is being reported that the theater owners association are not keen on shutting shop as Baahubali 2` to a great extent and Pa Paandi` to a certain extent are bringing in the crowds in spite of pirated versions available in the market. Remains to be seen how united all sections of Tamil cinema are in this very important battle against a severe threat to the entire industry.
