Director Perarasu has raised concerns about the exorbitant prices for parking and items purchased at theaters. He shared his thoughts during the audio and trailer release of the movie "Kanneer," directed and acted by Kathiravan. The event, held in Chennai, was attended by notable guests such as directors R.V. Udhayakumar, Perarasu, and producer K. Rajan, along with the film team.
Speaking at the event, Perarasu noted that romantic films have become rare, and the movie "Kanneer," focusing on love, is a refreshing addition. He commended the team's effort and emphasized the importance of supporting such films. Perarasu further highlighted the challenges faced by small-budget films. He pointed out that theaters often claim that small movies don't attract audiences, and the issue requires immediate resolution as the film industry is under significant threat. "While major hero films don't face these problems, smaller ones struggle to draw audiences or secure theater slots," he said.
Perarasu stressed the need for collective discussions to identify ways to attract audiences to small-budget films. He cited the unaffordable costs of parking and food at theaters as deterrents for viewers. He added, "If these high prices continue, how will audiences come? We shouldn't blame the audience but instead address these issues."
