It has been confirmed that Mohanlal, one of the best actors in India and the superstar in Kerala will be joining hands with Kamal Haasan for the flick titled as ‘Thalaivan Irukkinran’.

Mohanlal was last seen in Kollywood in the hugely acclaimed film ‘Iruvar’ made by Mani Ratnam in which he shared the screen space with the other lead actor Prakash Raj.

Although he was highly appreciated for his stupendous performance in 'Iruvar', his busy schedules in the Malayalam film industry never gave him time to venture out to other film industries.

In the mean time Lal acted in the Bollywood flick ‘Company’ made by Ram Gopal Varma again cornering great accolades for his performance as the south Indian police commissioner.

Maybe the invitation by the other stalwart Kamal Haasan must have been the reason for Lal to give in and find time out for ‘Thalaivan Irukkindran’.

The other reason for the Malayalee actor to give consent to do the project must have been due to the incredible success attained by the well received Bollywood film ‘A Wednesday’.

‘Thalaivan Irukkinran’ is going to be the remake of this Hindi film which had a tight, gripping and fast screen play narrating a high impact story related to the perils faced by a common man due to terrorism.

Most probably Kamal Haasan will be enacting the role played by Nasserudin Shah in the original and Mohanlal will be giving life to the role enacted by Anupam Kher.

Chakri will be directing the two master performers in ‘Thalaivan Irukkinran’.

It is being also heard that the makers have roped in the sultry B-Town girl Mallika Sherawat to do a lead role.
