The top five of the weekend

With the arrival of a few good Tamil movies, and the uninspiring performances from the few last Mollywood releases, the Malayalam movies has gone down in the list of the chart toppers. The Top Five list of this weekend shows a few fresh names.

1. ‘Dasavatharam’ - The Kamal Haasan movie which made a great start in eighty centers is said to be a visual spectacle offering mind blowing effects and the best in the acting and technical departments. The film is a good scientific thriller and extraordinary performance of Kamal in the ten roles and as the writer of the movie, is earning him praises like never before and the title of 'Ulaga Nayagan'.

The first day viewers, visibly stunned by his performances in different characters and get ups were in all applause for the actor. Malayalee star Asin and the cinematographer Ravivarman also earns accolades for their great work in the movie.

2. 'Annan Thampi' - The movie even after celebrating fifty days in around 40 centers , continues its dream run in around twenty centers in its 60th day. The movie registers fifty-seventy percent viewers in the weekends.

3. 'Shakesphere M A Malayalam' - At last, a small film is making a comfortable stay in this list of top five. This Jayasuriya - Kalabhavan Mani starrer from the debutant directors, Shyju-Shaji is in the run to become a hit. The movie in its fifth week in theatres still continues in around thirty centers with good collections.

4. ‘Santhosh Subrahmaniam’ - This Jeyam Ravi movie surprised every body in the trade circuit with the decent run that it is making in the state. The movie in its fifth week has fared better than an average Malayalam movie in almost all the centers.

5. 'Innathe Chintha Vishayam' - The Mohanlal - Sathyan Anthikkad movie has already become a hit and is a profit maker. 'Innathe Chintha Vishayam’ continues in select theaters in the major cities with good weekend collections.

‘Magic Lamp’ the latest from Jayaram fared better than expected and is into its second week in select centers. Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj couldn't hold on to its initial opening, but continues in a few centers, in its second week. Vadivelu's ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi' and ‘Arai En 305 Kadavul,' are the other latest Tamil release in Kerala.
