As we reported, producer PVP has slapped a complaint with Producers' Council against director Vamsi Paidipally for allegedly reneging on the commitment made to him. After 'Brahmotsavam' sunk without a trace at the BO, a project in the combination of Vamsi and Mahesh Babu was announced. PVP paid Vamsi an advance of Rs. 2.5 cr. From that contract, the story's ownership became PVP's. However, Vamsi signed up for a movie in the joint production of Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt! Allegedly, it's the same story that PVP owns. Thus, the producer has slapped a case through a Chennai court for breaching the contract.

PVP may be feeling that the word given to those distributors who lost big-time due to 'Brahmotsavam' will now stand dishonored if Vamsi were to have his way.

A prestigious project to be jointly produced by two respectable banners now stares in the face of uncertainty.
