The Shaukeens
Directed by ‘Tere Bin Laden’ famed director Abhishek Sharma, ‘The Shaukeens’ is the remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 classic comedy film ‘Shaukeen’, which had AK Hangal Ashok Kumar and Utpal Dutt. The modern version of the film features the trio of Anupam Kher, Piyush Mishra and Annu Kapoor in lead roles alongside Lisa Haydon and Akshay Kumar - who are reprising the role of Rati Agnihotri and Mithun Chakraborty respectively from the original. Akshay Kumar plays himself in the film.
The naughty comedy is written by filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, who marks his debut as a scriptwriter with this one.
The film revolves around three lecherous men - Pinky (Piyush Mishra), the unhappy widower, KD (Annu Kapoor), the single love guru and Laali (Anupam Kher), the sadly married. Fed up of their monotonous life the trio set off on a freedom trip to Mauritius. There they come across sexy, carefree Ahana (Lisa) who is girlfriend of Akshay Kumar. The trio try to impress Ahana, without knowing her real identity and thus, ending up in hilarious situations.
Produced by Cine1 Studios and Cape of Good Films, ‘The Shaukeens’ is coming up to hit the screens on November 7th, 2014.
