Chairing a symposium on a solution to Uddanam Nephropathy, actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan in Visakhapatnam said in the presence of Harvard Medical College's experts that he had always wanted to bring a closure to the fluoride contamination in Nalgonda ever since he came to know about it during the shoot of 'Tammudu'.
Much as he wanted to find a lasting solution to the grave issue, he couldn't accomplish it for want of political will on the part of the leadership. His inability to resolve the problem remained a sore thumb for him, causing him deep pain within. It was this failure that became a motivation for him to take up the plight of the Uddanam victims.
On Monday, Pawan, along with the doctors from Harvard, will call on the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh at 10:30 in the morning, at the AP Secretariat.
The CM will brief the visiting team and Jana Sena chief on the measures initiated by his government to end the menace.
