The 'Rs 275 Cr' boast: Hasn't Charan just broken his promise?

In an interview with a daily, Ram Charan has proudly said that 'Sye Raa' netted Rs 275 Cr in south India alone, while 'WAR' made Rs 300 Cr in the whole of India. The claim is problematic at two levels.
For one, the number is apparently fake. Going by trade reports, this one seems to be a multiplication of some number rather than actual collections.
For another, whatever happened to Ram Charan's promise of never putting out box-office figures on posters? Is it like he won't make claims on posters but will do so in other ways? Is it not the same as boasting?
In the same interview, the 'RRR' actor said that a song shot on Chiranjeevi and Tamannaah at Rs 8 Cr was not included in the final cut of 'Sye Raa' owing to run-time issues. This only shows that there was no proper planning despite so much time being spent on pre-production. Having to chop off a Rs 8 Cr song is nothing but ridiculous.
