In the press meet held for Maari` ahead of the film`s release tomorrow, lead actor Dhanush took on the questions posed by media persons and answered them with patience.

Will Dhanush write lyrics for all you movies?

I will write lyrics only if the director and music director insist on it. I am more interested to pen a story but I feel that I am not yet fully qualified for that.

Given your popularity in Bollywood, can we expect Maari` in Hindi?

I am not sure about it. Sarath sir (Producer R.Sarathkumar) has to take a call.

Why are you meeting the press at the eleventh hour?

We have been on a tight schedule to finish the film on time. The entire work relating to the film and its release was completed only recently.

Why don`t you meet the press regularly?

I can meet only when my product is ready.

You were shown smoking in the trailer. Why couldn`t you avoid that as it will set a bad precedent among audience?

moking. The character which is a local don had to smoke. And I smoked in the film only as per the demands of the script and character. I don`t smoke in real life.

Why did you announce the July 17 release date so suddenly?

It`s not a sudden announcement. I announced the July 17 release date, before three and a half months in my Twitter page.
