India's second lunar mission Chandrayaan 2 was scheduled to be launched on July 14th. Following a technical snag however, the Indian Space Research Organisation took to twitter to announce that the launch could not happen. They said: “A technical snag was observed in launch vehicle system at 1 hour before the launch. As a measure of abundant precaution, #Chandrayaan2 launch has been called off for today. Revised launch date will be announced later.”
The mission had aimed to reach new heights landing on the South pole of the Moon, a previously unexplored region. Till late last night updates were coming at regular intervals. It was in the last minute that the launch was stalled.
President Ram Nath Kovind had gone to see the historical moment. Unfortunately we will have to wait more for it.
