Here we have an unpopular take.  It's what we call 'The Rajamouli Jinx'.   Or, better still, let's call it 'The Jakkanna Jinx'.  No hero who has worked with Rajamouli ended up scoring a hit with his immediate next movie.

NTR has suffered the worst of all.  Not once but thrice.  'Student No. 1' was followed by the flop 'Subbu'.  'Simhadri' was followed by the disastrous 'Andhrawala'.  And 'Yamadonga' was followed by the lousy 'Kantri'.

Ram Charan became a sensation with his second film 'Magadheera', one of the best movies in Rajamouli's career.  It was followed by 'Orange', a super-flop at the box-office.

Prabhas himself has realized it once before.  'Chatrapathi' was followed by 'Pournami'.

Ravi Teja's 'Vikramarkudu' was followed by 'Khatarnak', a damp squib.

Nithiin had 'Allari Bullodu' after 'Sye'.  Of course, he had many flops thereafter.

Nani scored a flop with Gautam Menon's 'Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu' after 'Eega'.  The 'laurels' were shared by Samantha, who was actually the main lead of 'Eega'.  Sunil's 'Maryada Ramanna' was followed by a string of flops as the male lead.

No prizes for guessing why we are telling you all this.  'Saaho' has come after 'Baahubali'.  The irony is that the director who has never tasted a flop in his career has come to be associated with the jinx.  Rajamouli has consistently taken his heroes to the next level with his strong subjects, superb heroism, and massy elements.  However, the heroes find it extremely hard to find projects that can match the high expectations from them after working with Rajamouli.  The 'RRR' director doesn't find it hard to graduate to the next level, for he constantly evolves.
