Do you know about the man who gave current 'baadshah' Shah Rukh Khan his biggest ever disaster at the very beginning of his career?

Well it was none other than Ketan Mehta who is currently sitting at the hot seat with the release of Mangal Pandey inching closer. Now you may ask which movie are we talking about?

It was a little known movie 'Oh Darling Yeh Hai India' that took a small joke far too ahead with the movie's climax revolving around auction of nothing less than 'INDIA' itself.

The setting had the entire villain fraternity of Bollywood (Kadar Khan, Paresh Rawal, Raza Murad etc.) who represented powerful people from the society willing to take control over the country with auctions beginning from 'crores' to 'arabs' to multiple 'kharabs' and much more.

The movie was an outright reject with the audience giving thumbs down. Probably the movie was far ahead of its time in its quest to bring to screen the conflict between a common man and modern-day version of Don Quixote [played by Late Amrish Puri saab].

One strongly hopes that the historical epic 'Mangal Pandey' would turn out into a much better cinematic experience than the futuristic fantasy of 'Oh Darling Yeh Hai India' !!
