'The Lunchbox' wins Asian Film Awards

ÂThe Lunchbox has done it yet again, bagging more international acclaim. The Asian Film Awards or often referred to as the Asian ÂAcademy AwardsÂ, were recently held in Macau. 'The Lunchbox' managed to leave its mark at this very prestigious platform as well, winning the Best Actor Award (Irrfan Khan) and the Best Screenwriter Award (Ritesh Batra).
The Film has had a plethora of awards to its credit Indian and international alike. Commenting on this Vivek Rangachari, producer DAR Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd said, This is very natural path for a ground breaking film like ÂThe LunchboxÂ. The film had started to get recognition and acclaim while it was still in the script stage. This made the potential of the film obvious. To the fact that the film has been winning awards since its first showcasing in Cannes and it has been winning various awards since then.
DAR has had great 2013, some of the films were ÂMickey Virus and ÂD-DayÂ. In the content zone ÂUgly is another feature slated to release in 2014
ÂThe Lunchbox also stars Nimrit Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is produced by DAR Motion Pictures.
The Asian Film Awards were held on the 27th of March 2014 in Macau.
