'The Lunchbox' wins again

It has been all about break through cinema this awards season. The 9th Star Guild Awards was no different with, DAR Motion Pictures’ ‘The Lunchbox’ walking away with more awards and laurels. The star studded night saw the movie receive three awards.

Ritesh Batra received the prestigious Yash Chopra Award for the Most Promising Debut - Director. Indian cinemas two foremost character actors, who came together for ‘The Lunchbox’, Irfaan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui both walked away with an award each. Irfaan received the Star Verdict of the Year award whereas Nawazuddin was bestowed with the Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

‘The Lunchbox’ has been a Quantum leap for Indian Cinema as far storytelling and box office collections are concerned, both international and in India. Other than ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘D-Day’ was another great piece of cinema that was produced DAR Motion pictures. The films have been very well received by audience and critics alike. There has been endless list of nominations and awards for both the films this year. The more recent being Life Ok Screen Awards, where Ritesh Batra received Most Promising Debut Director, and Rishi Kapoor walked away with Best Actor in a Negative Role.

This year DAR Motion Pictures has Shreyas Talpade’s upcoming Marathi film ‘Baji’, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Ugly’, ‘Haunted 2’ amongst others.
