It was earlier mentioned that Karan Johar is all set to present the well-acclaimed film, ‘The Lunchbox’, in India. So now, as a token of gratitude, the production team, Dar Motion Pictures, have planned to throw an industry party for the director-producer. Dar motion pictures, who just released ‘D-Day’ want to be upfront in their appreciation of Johar taking up the project.

Confirming this, a source close to the film’s production house said, "The makers of the film want to throw a party for Karan. He has decided to attach his name to the project and will be presenting and marketing the film." The film will be presented to desi audiences by Karan Johar and UTV, in association with Dar Motion Pictures and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

Produced by Anurag Kashyap, Guneet Monga and Arun Rangachari, ‘The Lunchbox’ stars Irrfan and Nawazuddin in the lineup and the source says that its core audience is excited about the project. But with a presenter like Karan, it would help them make it a more commercial film.

An official spokesperson from the production house stated, "We are very thankful to Karan Johar for extending his support to The Lunchbox and are planning to celebrate this by throwing an industry party for him."

‘The Lunchbox’ that has won accolades at various international film festivals will now get a theatrical release across India. ‘The Lunch Box’ was a breakout film at Cannes Film festival.
