The Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) has decided to include 18 more senior artistes in the list of 33 for the 'Kaineettam' (financial assistance), given by the association.

Addressing mediamen on Sunday, Innocent, president and Mohanlal, secretary of AMMA, along with new office bearers, after the annual general body meeting, said financial assistance of Rs 2000 each was being given to the needy and senior artists every month now and the ambition of AMMA was to provide it to all the artistes.

The association also decided to produce a film to find funds, Innocent, who had been holding the president post consecutively for the third time, said.

Dileep, vice president, who has been assigned the film project, said they have plans to start the film by the end of this year and Joshi would direct the film and all members would act in the film.

Mohanlal said the ambition of the association was to increase the financial assistance to Rs 5000 in due course.
