'The Lion King', the American musical, photorealistic computer-animated drama, is all set to release on July 19. To be released in India in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil, the Telugu version comes with dubbing from the likes of Nani. The film's premier show was held in Hyderabad for the media on Wednesday night.
It's the dubbing by familiar names that makes the Telugu version special. Nani's voice for Simba is impressive, while Brahmanandam and Ali are rib-tickling with their irreverent lines for Timon and Pumbaa. Jagapathi Babu's voice for the wily Scar is another highlight. The Brahmi-Ali duo's conversations bring in a semblance of nativity, much like what Venkatesh and Varun Tej did in 'Aladdin', the Summer release.
Directed by Jon Favreau, the film's storyline has some similarities with that of 'Baahubali'.
