The actress now stages a comeback with the Tamil film titled Veera Nachiyar, which would be released this April.

Interestingly, the movie has Vijayashanthi penning the screenplay and story herself.

The movie stars the actress in a dual role (a gutsy Jhansi and an innocent woman Nachiyar).

This is Vijayashanthi's straight Tamil film following Mannan, Bannari Amman and Rajasthan in the recent past.

Deva has scored the music while a debutant Kumaresan has wielded the megaphone.
Mansoor Ali Khan, Shayji Shindae and Vadivelu are also in the cast.

Vijayashnathi now hopes to build on her career from this.
