Recently, a resident from UP by the name of Intezar Hussain Sayed moved the Bombay High Court, urging it to stall the release of 'The Kashmir Files' (Hindi). As per the petitioner, the film hurts the sentiments of the Muslim community.
On Tuesday, the HC struck off the petition. It held that the film can be released on March 11.
Commenting on the petition, director Vivek Agnihotri had said that every single frame in his movie mirrors the truth and only truth.
What is the film about? It details the events in the run up to the Hindu ethnic cleansing in Kashmir Valley in the early 1990s narrated with a touch of sensitivity. Atul Srivastava, Anupam Kher, and Mithun Chakraborty have played key roles. Pallavi Joshi and Prakash Belavadi have pivotal roles as well.
Produced by Zee Studios, Tej Narayan Agrawal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the film seeks to expose the fanatical and genocidal mindset behind the Azad Kashmir movement.
