Country's most popular TV program, 'The Kapil Sharma Show' had landed in a legal trouble recently. A lawyer from Shivpuri has filed a case against makers of the show for demeaning the Indian judicial system in one of their episodes. This is in reference to an episode where a character was shown to be consuming liquor while acting in a courtroom scene. The lawyer who filed the case believes that this scene has brought disgrace to the court.
The lawyer has issues with the content of the show as well. He said, "The Kapil Sharma Show aired on Sony TV is very sloppy. They also make lewd comments on women. In one of the episodes, a court was set up on the stage and the actors were seen drinking alcohol in public. This is contempt of court. That's why I have demanded registration of FIR against the culprits under Section 356/3 in the court. Such display of sloppiness should be stopped.”
Apart from Kapil Sharma himself, the show stars Krushna Abhishek, Sumona Chakraborty, Chandan Prabhakar and others. The show briefly went off air during second wave of the pandemic but it returned on 21 August.
