'The Family Man 2' has been sought to be banned by the Tamil Nadu government, which has urged the Centre to act against the web series for allegedly distorting and discrediting the historical struggle of the Eelam Tamils.
In this regard, directors Raj and DK have issued a statement saying that a lot of assumptions and impressions have been made based on just a couple of shots from the trailer. As per those seeking a ban on the espionage thriller, Samantha Akkineni's Raji is an LTTE terrorist who has links with Pakistan's ISI.
In their statement, the director said that they are very cognizant of the sentiments of the Tamil people and Tamil culture and have nothing but the utmost love and respect towards the Tamil people.
They added that they have put in years of hard work into the show, which will start streaming on Amazon Prime from June 4. "We have taken great pains to bring to our audiences a sensitive, balanced and riveting story - much like we did in Season 1 of the show," they added.
Also featuring Manoj Bajpayee, Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Neeraj Madhav, Kishore Kumar and others, the series has music by Sachin and Jigar.
