India still cant stop celebrating the twin Oscar Awards it received on March 12th in the form of the "Naatu Naatu" song from 'RRR' winning Best Original Song and 'The Elephant Whisperers' winning the Best Documentary Short at the 95th Academy Awards.

'The Elephant Whisperer' directed by Kartiki Gonsalves a Ooty born Mumbai based filmmaker is produced by Guneeth Monga. It deals with the rehabilitation of baby elephants by tribal couple Bommi and Belli who care for them like parents at the Masinagudi Elephant Camp till they can survive on their own.

An elephant named Raghu is the hero of the 'The Elephant Whisperers' and it has been revealed that he was found abandoned near Hosur in a weak state due to dog bites. He then came under the care of Bommi and Belli who nursed him back to prime health and today he is part of Oscar history for India,

Another big news is that in 2017 when Raghu was taken in by the authorities he needed costly medicines and supplements for his recovery and one of the major contributors for them was our own Sivakarthikeyan. The news has made fans of the loveable star super happy and they are sharing their delight on social media. Famous Chennai based astrologer Shelly was also one among those who helped out.

Sivakarthikeyan also adopted a lion named ‘Vishnu’ and a female elephant named ‘Prakrithi’ in Vandaloor Zoo. It truly shows that he is an animal lover. The family friendly star is currently acting in 'Maaveeran' which will release during the Summer. He will next start shooting for a new movie produced by Kamal Haasan and directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy in which Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead.
