Award winning malayalee director R Sharath will see his new Hindi film 'The desire' screened in the current edition of the New york International festival. The movie which is an Indo-China co production featuring Shilpa shetty, Anupam Kher, Jayapradha, Vikram Gokhale and Asif was selected for the festival. The movie has already won the Best Narrative Film Award at the Geneva Film Festival.

'The desire' produced by Sunandha shetty in the banner of Ten Golden Stars is the first Indo-china co production. Shilpa Shetty plays a 'bald, lesbian monk' in the movie, with the help of prosthetic make-up. The film has been shot in Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh in India and in various Malayasian locales. The movie made in Chinese and Hindi will be released shortly in India and china
