Actress Shraddha Srinath, who made her Kollywood debut with the Maniratnam directed Kaatru Veliyidai, playing a cameo, went to act in blockbuster movies like Vikram Vedha, Ajith starrer Ner Konda Paarvai etc, besides also acting in Telugu hits like Jersey.
Currently, the actress awaits the release of her Telugu movie Krishna and his Leela, and has played a police officer in her next Tamil release Chakra starring Vishal. Now, taking it to Instagram, Shraddha Srinath has revealed an incident that turned her into a feminist and a non believer.
Shraddha's Instagram post read I was 14. At a family pooje, I got my period. I was not accompanied by my mom, so I nudged my aunt sitting next to me and worriedly informed her of it (because I was not carrying a sanitary pad). Another good natured lady sitting close, saw me worried and overheard me and said to me, smiling reassuringly, “Parvagilla chinna, devaru kshamistaare/ don’t worry child, God will forgive you” (for being part of the Pooja while menstruating). That’s the day I became a feminist and a non believer. I was 14.
