Interestingly this weekend has proved to be the most busiest day for releases, with half a dozen movies opting to be on theaters on the same day. But, most of them are small films with limited budget which has reached for the Box Office with too little publicity. In fact people associated with the field even are dumb about some among these films, the titles of which are heard for the first time.
Actor Salim Kumar directed 'Compartment', Khadar Hassan's 'Friendship', Roma Asrani's 'Namaste Bali', the critically acclaimed arthouse film ' Alif', Melila Rajasekharan's 'White boys' and kalabhavan Mani's Biju C Kannan directed 'Eru Vazhy thiruyunnidam are the six movies that has made into limited centres. Only two among them have a good release in forty plus centres while the rest manages with one or two shows in centers like the capital city which has got two dozen single screens. It is also sure that much of these movies will sink within a couple of days unless one among them emerge as a dark horse.
Meanwhile, the only movie in theatres that is minting money seems to the Mammooty film 'Fireman' which maintains sixty percent collection in every centres. The movie is sure to end up as the first official hit of the year.
