R Narayana Murthy would back with People's War (earlier titled as Ammakaniki Andhra Pradesh) very probably, in the month of September. The story is inspired by the agitation of rural folks in Sompeta against proposed thermal power project there. Sri Hari and Posani Krishna Murali, along with Murthy, are playing key roles.
The director has said that he is with the people opposing the "environmentally-dangerous project." However, the movie itself is more than just an agitation against a plant. It seeks to tell the story of the landless farmer, the jobless youth, etc., whose material strength and social position have been decimated in the name of development.
Sri Hari is playing the role of Joga Rao, a victim of the shameful Sompeta killings. 'People's War' narrates the dangers looming large for fishermen and farmers in case the proposed power plant becomes real.
Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, LB Sriram, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Shakuntala are part of the cast. The film is currently in post-production.
