The month of birth and death of Icon of Kannada cinema Dr Rajakumar had seen some outstanding developments but the box office is dipped in sorrows.
As many as 12 films were released in the month of April 2010 but only ÂPrithvi of power star Puneeth Rajakumar could make news in the box office. Golden star Ganesh starring ÂUllasa Utsaha is average in collection. The film ÂPrithvi watched by former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda in Bangalore and former deputy chief minister Siddaramaiah in Mysore took importance. The collection is steady according to sources.
Thipparahalli Tharlegalu, Premism, Parole, Sathya, Kiladi Krishna, Krishne Nee Late Aagi Baaro, Antharthma, Ijjodu and Prithvi, Ullasa Utsaha, Preethi Nee Heegeke are the films that were released in the month of April.
ÂAptha Rakshaka continues to roar in the box office and it is heading for 100 days in end of May 2010.
Among the developments the presentation of state awards took place in Shimoga in the presence of BS Yediyurpapa chief minister of Karnataka. The announcement the life time achievement awards will be given in the name of Dr Vishnuvaradhan and supporting actor award in the name of Dr KS Ashwath.
The month of April happened to be the passing away month of Dr Rajakumar on April 12 (in the year 2006) and birthday too on 24 was abuzz with activities. Dr Rajakumar Souhardha award for three prominent personalities  SK Bhagwan, Shanthamma and Shivaram were presented on April 24 the 82rd birth anniversary of Dr Rajakumar. At this function in Hotel Ashok, the three sons of Dr Rajakumar  Shiv, Raghu and Puneeth signed the papers to donate their bodies after death.
In the Bruhat Bangaluru Metropolitan Corporation election Kannada film producer Munirathna Naidu of Congress is the only winner with good margin of votes from the Kannada film fraternity.
Prominent actor Sathya married television actress Nirmala at the registrar office in Bangalore and showed simplicity.
