Amidst rumours that Vijay Deverakonda has hiked his remuneration phenomenally after back-to-back hits, the star actor has opened up on the issue. Speaking to a senior critic, the 'Geetha Govindam' actor said that he doesn't prefer to raise his fee for a reason.
"I am still ignorant of what actually is happening beyond what I do every day. The action outside, I still don't understand it. I don't think I have observed it. I have not paid enough attention to understand it. Today, when 'NOTA' is releasing, I think if anyone will turn up to watch it. In my case, it has been so quick from no one knowing you to everyone knowing you. I am still stuck there. I don't know if people will come to watch my movie," he begins saying.
He further says why he doesn't inflate his remuneration. "It's said that when you give a big success, you raise your remuneration. I feel guilty of raising the remuneration because I tell myself 'maybe they will not watch my next movie. So, I shouldn't hike up the cost for the producer'. And when my next movie too becomes a big hit, I think 'maybe I should start quoting a little more'. Because these buggers are making money but I am not. And then I think 'one more film becomes a hit and I will hike it up'. I don't feel like a star," he concludes.
