In a YouTube interview, K Rama Lakshmi, late lyricist Arudra's wife, revealed that former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was very much in love with 'andagadu' Sobhan Babu.

"She was such a talented and fine lady who couldn't have been dragged into the mud. 'Gorintaku' was shot at Jayalalithaa's home. One day, she wanted to serve everybody dishes for the lunch. Sobhan Babu said, 'No, I don't have any work for the rest of the day. So, I will leave'. I pity her. He would have married her had he not been already married. He was never the kind of person who would cheat his wife. That's the problem. He was too sincere," Rama Lakshmi says.

Sobhan Babu was married to his Guru's daughter. "He married her only because he wanted to help his guru, who was not in a position to marry off his daughter," she says.
