Military Madhavaram in West Godavari district is where the audio function of 'Naa Peru Surya' will be held on April 22. Before we throw light on why the village has been chosen by the makers, here is a brief intro about this revered land.
Named after the 17th Century Arugolanu's king, Madhava Brahma Varma, whose military base was here, the village has consistently served the armed forces for three centuries now. As per an estimate, 1110 soldiers from this village participated in the World War-II. Its heroes have fought in the Indo-China war and the Indo-Pak wars after Independence. A soldier from every home makes Military Madhavaram the celebrated place it is.
Say the makers of 'NPS', "Perhaps, there is no patriot who hasn't heard the name of this village. At least one person from each house in this village is protecting the country at the border. Our movie tells the story of some such great soldiers. We have chosen the village as the centre for the audio release so that we can meet with the families of some of the heroic soldiers."
Bunny has evinced special interest in the village. "Our event will be a mark of respect for them. As soon as we came to know about this village, our unit members went there and spoke to its residents. Our hero Allu Arjun is very happy that the event has been decided to be held there," the makers add.
While its heroes are great, Military Madhavaram has had its share of problems related to education, healthcare and even transport.
