Speaking at a press meet of 'Oh Baby', Samantha Akkineni spoke of a career decision she made a couple of years ago.
"I have decided to do only good films or else sit at home. 'Rangasthalam', 'Mahanati', 'Super Deluxe' and 'Majili' happened after this decision. My choices have now become clear. 'Oh Baby' is one such decision. I had always wanted to do a full-fledged comedy before retiring as an actress. With this film, the wish has been fulfilled," the star actress said.
"After doing 'Oh Baby', I felt like hugging my mother and asking her what she was dreaming as a youngster. I am a working woman and I have had the opportunities to live my dreams. But other women in my family didn't have those opportunities. Our mothers have made thousands of sacrifices but they never make a big deal about it," she added.
Talking about the film, Sam further said, "'Oh Baby' is sans melodrama. It's a comedy that makes you understand things in the most beautiful, funny and sensitive way. This is what made me want to do the remake. I have learned a lot of lessons doing this film. I am now thinking about aspects other than acting."
"Now that Suresh Babu garu has announced the release date, it means he is happy with the output. The film has got an amazing cast. Lakshmi garu is of the same height as mine. Rajendra Prasad garu gave me some training in comedy. Teja (Indra child artiste) will be a blast in the movie. I am thankful to Naga Shaurya," Sam averred.
The film releases on July 5.
