The TSR-TV9 National Film Awards 2017-2018 event was held on Sunday in Vizag. T Subbarami Reddy organized the event, which was attended by Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and others.
Speaking on the occasion, the 'Sye Raa' actor addressed Balakrishna as his brother, Mohan Babu as 'Peddayana' and 'Kurrayana' (after a brief bout of funny camaraderie), and Nagarjuna as someone close to his heart.
"I never lose an opportunity to visit Vizag. It's a beautiful place full of nicest people. I always use the opportunity to meet them. I admire TSR garu's energy levels. He has consistently organized events like this one for years even at this age. He does all this only because he loves art. If so many of us are here today, it's because we admire his sincerity and passion. We actors in the film industry live like brothers and our message to fans is that they too should be like us," Chiru said.
"While Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Mohan Babu have received awards, I have not got any award today. I am here to receive the award on behalf of my son, Ram Charan. As I said about his performance in 'Rangasthalam' in the past, I am proud of Charan as a father and jealous of him as an actor. I am thoroughly enjoying the pride of being his father. I am happy that he is producing my film 'Sye Raa'. After he did 'Magadheera', I told Charan that he is lucky to have got to do a film like that so early in his career. I had done 149 movies by then but never got to do a costumes drama. My comment stayed in his mind for years. And he came up with 'Sye Raa', a costume drama. It's his gift to me," the Megastar signed off.
