That question about my heroine was demeaning: 'DJ Tillu' actor Siddhu

'DJ Tillu', which stars Siddhu Jonnalagadda as the hero, has been in the news. At an event on Wednesday, actress Neha Shetty from the movie was in for a disgusting situation. A senior journalist asked the hero if he had got to count the birthmarks on the heroine's body in real life, much like in the film (referring to a dialogue from the trailer). Siddhu replied that he would like to avoid the question. Since then, he has been asked by many why he didn't hit back at the journo and was soft in his response.
On Friday, Siddhu gave an explanation. In a long statement, the actor said that he wanted to show restraint and didn't want to lose his temper, adding that he didn't want to dignify the question by giving an answer. He described his behaviour as both calm and composed.
Without taking the journalist's name, Siddhu said that the question was demeaning. I would like to believe that it was unintentional, he added.
Siddhu explained that female and male actors have to muster a lot of courage while filming intimate scenes in the presence of at least one hundred people on set. The focus of technicians is sometimes on the face of the heroine and it is not easy to pull off a kissing scene amid such kind of extreme attention, he suggested.
Siddhu indicated that actors shouldn't be judged for what they do on the screen. Reel life and real life are different, he reasoned.
The actor requested everyone to promote 'DJ Tillu' for its content. He urged the audience to enjoy the film when it hits the screens on February 11.
