Sumanth is busy promoting 'Kapatadhaari', his upcoming movie. The crime drama, in which he plays a traffic sub-inspector, will hit the screens this Friday (February 19).

In his latest interview, the 'Malli Raava' hero has revealed something interesting. He said that Puri Jagannadh had offered 'Desamuduru' to him first. "When Puri Jagannadh narrated the story to me, I showed no interest because I knew that I was not apt for the character. Had I done 'Desamuduru', it would have a sure-shot flop. Because Bunny did it, it became a hit. There is no way it would have worked for me," Sumanth said.

The actor revealed that he will be acting in a progressive romantic drama next. "This is going to be my first romantic drama since 'Malli Raava'. The project is yet to be formally announced. A newcomer is going to direct it," Sumanth said.

Sumanth's 'Anaganaga Oka Rowdy' will release later this year.
