Tharun Bhascker has made a volte-face on his stance about film criticism. Opinions are like a$$holes and everyone has them, he recently said, getting irreverent. The acclaimed director recklessly propagated the idea of a mandatory film appreciation course for all critics.
Following a web media backlash, Tharun on Monday took a U-Turn. "It's because of reviews that 'Pelli Choopulu' was such a big hit. The reviews that 'Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi' has got are encouraging. It doesn't matter even if some of them have given a low rating. We respect everybody's opinion. Reading reviews helps me better myself every time," he said.
Then why did he make those intemperate comments against critics just a couple of days ago? "The other day, I made those comments against critics because we were irritated by someone waging fingers at the camera angles and lighting," Tharun said.
