Sri Ranjini is a native of Angamaly and hails from a musical family. Her father Unni Raj is a musician. Her mother Rama Devi is also in the acting world. His brother Bilahari is the director, who directed 'Porataam' and 'Allu Ramendran'.

Sri Ranjini portrayed a teacher named Ashwathy in 'Thaneer Mathan Dinangal'. It is worth the mention that Ashwathy Teacher's character, who is in love with Ravi Padmanabhan, played by Vineeth Srinivasan, made the audience laugh throughout the film.
