Director Pa. Ranjith, for the past few months has been shooting almost nonstop for his next magnum opus 'Thangalaan' starring Chiyaan Vikram. The period action adventure has Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy, Pasupathi and Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone as the principal cast with Studio Green K.E. Gnanavel Raja producing on a very grand scale.

It is said that 'Thangalaan', is based on the story of the evolution of the Kolar Gold Fields in the state of Karnataka mixed with fantasy elements. It is being developed in 3D technology and fans will feel a new experience when this film is released in theaters later this year.

According to the current information, the current shooting schedule of 40 days is going on in KGF where the story is set. It is said that never before seen stunt sequences are being filmed right now and will be wrapped up in a couple of week's time. After this the remaining portions will be shot in Chennai for 15 days after which the entire shooting will be completed according to sources close to the film's crew.

'Thangalaan' has music score by G.V. Prakash Kumar while Kishore Kumar is handling the camera. The latter has shared some amazing BTS pics from the KGF sets that have gone viral.
