This is the most disappointing film in the career of Kavitha Lankesh. With lackluster story and poor editing she has taken things for granted it seems. The cast of Rakshita and Ramya, Kalyan's mellifluous music and Mahendran camera work are only the notable points in this film that created a big hype for the combination two heartthrobs of Kannada cinema. It is a disgrace for the violin instrument. Due respect is not given to such a divine instrument.
The story revolves among Shanker, Bhavani and Vanaja. Shanker loves the theatre artist Bhavani while Vanaja loves Shanker. Shanker is disappointed when Bhavani turns down the offer to marry. Hit with bad luck Shanker loses all his control and one fine day he loses his eye sight. Vanaja mimicry the voice of Bhavani sees that Shanker is happy. Normally the blind person gets the feel by touching. Here the director Kavitha Lankesh has forgotten about it. Back home Vanaja parents bring to her notice that she is doing a grave mistake by pretending as Bhavani to Shanker. Vanaja takes the risk of marrying Shanker. In the marriage hall Vanaja explain that she is pretending as Bhavana. Shanker accepts her whole heartedly.
As usual the two beautiful heroines of Kannada cinema look tremendous. Sham has been bit lazy on the screen. None of the other artistes have opportunity to give notable performances.
Kalyan's music is the real hero of the film. A full length classical concert could have been planned instead of suing bits. This could have at least showcased the brilliance of Dr.LS.
Kavitha makes a touch and go on the life of theatre life and violin musical instrument in the process of giving a triangular love story. She has caught hold of an age old concept in the end with no novelty. This is a link less film. The editing and connection between the scenes is missing. Mahendran's beauty in camera has been extremely good.
This is an average fare.
